Meet our Marketing Executive

Our team at Station Rd is growing! You may have already seen our latest addition on our social media channels and today, we want you to get to know her better. Anita Nardin recently joined our team at Station Rd as our Marketing Executive, bringing with her all her Italian-ness. She works with our content team to create fabulous content for our clients. Anyway, enough with the chit-chat, let’s see what she had to say…Mamma mia!

Hi Anita! You’ve quickly slotted into the team and we’re getting to know a lot about you. But for those who haven’t yet had the pleasure, could you provide some background or a history of Anita?
Sure, let’s start from the beginning. I am originally from Italy but have always been fascinated with British culture and the UK in general. I moved to Wales almost four years ago and started working straight away. Having studied Linguistics, the interest in Marketing came as a bit of a surprise to me. A friend of mine introduced me to it and gave me the opportunity to learn and develop my skills on the job. Since then, I have never stopped looking for new opportunities to learn and improve. We could say it was love at first sight.

If you were to describe yourself in five words, what would they be?
Passionate, friendly, determined, control freak and chatty.

What has been your favourite project that you’ve worked on?
I have been in the job for less than a month now so it’s hard to pick one. I have had fun getting to know all of the clients and so far I have loved writing content for all of them. If I had to pick one, I would have to say writing for Coles Funeral Directors. Their vision and their passion for their job is inspiring and it broadened my perspective in a way I hadn’t thought possible.

What’s been your most memorable piece of work?
This is an easy one. My first blog for Station Rd, ‘Struggling with B2B social media? Think about it like cooking…’. I loved writing about B2B social media and I loved putting my personal touch to it including my passion for food into the blog. I had the inspiration one night before going to bed (we all know the best ideas come when we least expect them) and I thought “This is different from any other blog on B2B and it’s 100% me”.

Why did you decide to join the Station Rd team?
I was already working in marketing before joining Station Rd. but my role was in-house. I was curious to see what was like working for an agency. When I found out about this position I was at a point of my life where I felt I needed a change. But it wasn’t until I met Jay and Lyanna at my interview that I knew how much of an impact this job would have on me. Their honesty and professionalism convinced me that they were the best in the industry and I was going to learn a lot from them.

Tell us one thing that we wouldn’t know about you?
Fun fact about me. When I was in school (we are talking decades here!), I wasn’t particularly interested in writing; it used to be my biggest fear actually. But I was determined to improve at any cost. And here I am now, putting words together on a piece of paper for work. Life’s ironic isn’t it?
