MSC Nutrition is a high-performance sports nutrition brand which works closely with and supplies supplementation to a vast number of sports-led Universities, professional and semi-professional sports team and athletes across the UK.
MSC Nutrition wanted to raise its social media presence, brand awareness and athlete engagement, utilising the expert knowledge at its disposal, brand ambassadors and product benefits. With its key target audience being professional athletes, the content needed to be knowledgeable, quality and aspirational.
Initially, we were recruited to assist with social media, but we quickly identified the need to optimise the website. Also, alongside daily, knowledge-focused social media activity, we identified the need to take a strategic, integrated approach to our communications by maximising athlete partnerships through PR. We especially wanted to heighten the awareness of the brand’s relationship with champion boxer, Carl Frampton in the media in the lead up his fight with Santa Cruz in 2016. As part of this activity, we targeted high-level publications such as Sky Sports News, Men’s Health, Muscle and Fitness and more to secure relevant press coverage which would be publicised through social media channels. In line with this activity, we also wanted to prioritise visual content including graphics and video to encourage increased engagement, something which the brand had previously struggled with.
