About the client.

Based in North Wales, CHC has been working in the waste management industry for over 20 years, helping customers to stay compliant and achieve their waste and facilities management goals. Priding themselves on excellent service and a customer-centric approach to business.

The challenge.

Having reached another phase of growth CHC was looking to overhaul its brand image, collateral and website which were originally created in 1990s. Having grown from a two-man team to a multimillion-pound business employing over 20 staff and supporting more than 70 organisations. The team at CHC was keen to maintain its heritage but refresh the look and feel of the business in line its forward-thinking approach to business.

Our thinking.

We took a strategic approach to the delivery of the brand refresh. Taking the time to fully understand CHC as a business, how the current website was performing, who its key audiences were and how they used technology, and what the key business goals were. This allowed us to review and refine its brand values, which were central to developing creative concepts around the company’s identity. Focusing on sustainability and responsible waste disposal, green was maintained as the key brand colour with its connotations of life, nature, growth and harmony alongside a full complimentary colour palette, utilising colours such as brown and blue to distinguish services whilst staying true to the natural theme. To help the brand stand out in a traditionally complex and conservative market, we developed a suite of icons and illustrations to help simplify communications and get across key messages and processes in a more visual way.

This has become the backbone of all communications, helping us to create a website that was incredibly visual, easy to navigate and understand with a customer-centric, friendly tone to represent the team and how they do business in an authentic way. Brand assets were also created alongside the website to maintain consistency across print, business cards and social media.
